You can fool everyone else except yourself. Many successful people I know appear as though they have it all. Beautiful family, high paying job, financially well off… but internally, they know they have plateaued. 

They have started avoiding the hard stuff and stopped growing. They have remained busy, but no longer productive. They are pulled into unnecessary meetings at work. They have stopped leading themselves. Getting up late and checking out early is no longer enough. In short, they are all filler and no killer. The instinct that once drove them has now been asleep for far too long. 

Externally praised yet internally frustrated. There is even borderline shame present as the ruts grow deeper and deeper. The success is there, but the fire isn’t. 

I know because I felt this myself. I realized that my current trajectory was more of the same old tasks I had grown to hate and I realized I was upset with myself for playing too small. The truth is that I wasn’t spending my time with people that wanted to be great. All the while, I was fighting the limitations within my current role. 

I needed an escape hatch from this lifestyle that was a solution to my painful complacency. My turning point came when I found a mentor that helped me see what was possible and provided a doable system for success.
